I was recently contacted by the lovely wedding coordinator at The Chewton Glen Hotel & Spa in The New Forest, about featuring an image of mine from Alex & Meghan’s black tie wedding at Chewton Glen in their new wedding brochure. I of course consented to the use (with credit) along with the couple and it reminded me how much I loved that wedding and that it really should be on my blog. Even though Alex & Meghan’s wedding was over 4 years ago, it still remains one of my favourite weddings that I have ever photographed because I love the timeless elegance of the black tie look and it was such a beautiful and fun wedding, with a lovely couple that just happened to also be stunning and the bridesmaids were hilarious!
The day started off in Christchurch at Meghan’s parent’s house, which looks onto the beautiful little harbour. The bridesmaids thought it would be funny to all have photos with Meghan’s mum’s various plants around the house as their bouquets hadn’t yet arrived.
The ceremony took place in The Morning Room at the Chewton Glen, where Meghan got quite emotional.
After being congratulated, it was then into garden where there were garden games for the guest to play with, then family group photos and couple photos. The Bridesmaids had great fun sitting on the statues in the garden and then all laughing so much that they all fell over, which you’ll see in the photos.
Once the drinks reception had finished, it was time for the wedding breakfast, which took place in the beautiful summer house and was then followed by sparkler photos and speeches.
There was no dancing in the evening, so we ended the day with some creative backlit photos of Alex and Meghan in front of the hotel, and one of those photos is the one that the Chewton Glen have used on their website as well as one of the sparkler photo and will also be used in their new brochure.
