Last July I had the absolute pleasure of capturing Kieran & Alejandra’s beautiful intimate garden wedding. The had originally planned to get married abroad but then the pandemic hit and it blew their plans to pieces. Kieran & Alejandra met on the cruise ship that they both worked on and their love blossomed from there. After covid hit and they had to re think their wedding plans they got in touch with me and we had a 3 way Zoom call as Kieran was still at sea and Alejandra was living and working in the US.
They decided to book me as their wedding photographer and I’m so pleased that they did as their beautiful intimate garden wedding day ended up being one of my favourites that I’ve ever photographed! As their wedding was early July, which as outside of lockdown but before restrictions were eased, they ended up having a very intimate wedding at Winchester registry office with just 15 guests and then went on to Lainston House in Sparsholt to have the first part of their wedding reception. We took some family and group photos and they had a sit down meal. Then, whilst everyone else went on to the 2nd part of the reception which was held in the back garden of Kieran’s parent’s house, Kieran and Alejandra stayed on at Lainston house to have their couple photos as there is so many beautiful areas around the venue that make perfect backdrops for photos.
On the way out from the long driveway up to Lainston House, I spotted a beautiful white poppy field so we stopped their for some photos as well.
Kieran & Alejandra’s transport was a vintage car hired by Kieran’s parent’s as a surprise and it was the exact car and company that they had as their wedding car 30 years before so made it extra special and when they arrived at the house everyone was waiting outside to waive them in.
15 more guests joined for the outside celebration and when I walked through to the garden I was so impressed with the transformation and all of the amazing DIY they had done to decorate it, to make it special for Kieran & Alejandra after the heartache of not being able to have their original dream wedding abroad. It was the perfect little garden set up for their reception.
The speeches were made at the tables set out in the garden. Afterwards there was a delicious BBQ by Lucy’s BBQ & Hog Roast and later in the evening an ice cream van too. Kieran & Alexandra had a friend making cocktails at the outdoor bar that they had created and to top off the evening celebrations they had a Mariachi band to bring a little bit of Mexico to their English wedding as a surprise for all of their guests. The mariachi band were amazing and had everyone on the dance floor (decking!)
The wedding really was a beautiful day and a fun packed evening and I’m honoured that I got to be part of it and document this special time for Kieran & Alejandra!
