Sopley Mill is a beautiful, characteristic water mill surrounded by the Avon River and stunning meadows situated near Christchurch in Dorset.
I had the pleasure of photographing the gorgeous wedding of Ant and Sarah at Sopley Mill recently and I was stunned by the beauty of this 18th Century water Mill. I love all things vintage and rustic so this beaut wedding Venue is right up my street! I love the character the building has through the rustic brickwork and old windows. The fact that it is set between meadows and the river avon running around both sides of the Mill makes this stunning venue even more irresistible for weddings.
The Mill has a relaxed and flexible approach so that couples feel comfortable in the exclusivity of the venue and it is a blank canvas for couples to create their perfect wedding. Couples can organise their own suppliers and decor if they wish or have recommendations suggested by the owners of the Mill, which has been in the same family for over 150 years. As the Mill is exclusive to you and your guests it offers complete privacy which can be hard to find at most other venues.
In the summer months your guests can enjoy the garden with with the beautiful surroundings of the River Avon and unspoilt water meadows. For more relaxed outdoor weddings it is possible to have a BBQ style wedding breakfast in the gardens.
For Winter weddings you and your guests can enjoy the cosy atmosphere of the log fires whilst taking in the wooden beams and character that make this historic building the perfect place to have a wedding any time of year.
It’s hard to believe that this remarkable building is only a 10 minute drive away from Bournemouth town centre, with it’s fantastic rural setting. There are also plenty of hotels nearby for guests that have travelled or fancy a cheeky tipple and don’t want to worry about transport home.
